Torchlight 3 kept me interested at least a full hour after I wanted to stop, just out of sheer absurdity and charm. I’m capable on my own, but I’m mostly there to help support my train and any allies I may have. Usually in action RPGs, the pet master is a bit weaker to compensate for their army - or in this case, giant train - and The Railmaster is no different. I hit a key to start the train up, and I can hit it again to end the tracks, leaving my train to sit and take shots at whatever is nearby. My abilities let me smash my weapon into the ground or throw some dynamite. With the train in tow, The Railmaster behaves like a beefy, brawler class. The train starts with a simple turret, but players can evolve the train with a shield pylon for defense or a giant mortar cannon to deal area damage, among other upgrades. A short distance behind the player, a locomotive appears and subsequently follows the tracks. Instead of a traditional pet, The Railmaster perpetually builds train tracks behind him. Since you have an army of minions to take care of your enemies, you can just sit back and relax on the sidelines. This build essentially allows you to play solo and take on maps without inviting other players over. If you’re a fan of letting your minions do the work for you, then I would highly recommend the Moto Synthetic Army build. Then, you can just run around the battlefield and avoid enemies that try to get close. After all, you simply have to target an area on the ground and let the skill do its thing right after. It’s a really simple playstyle that doesn’t come with a lot of risks. The build relies on the Flame Jet skill which causes a targeted area on the ground to burst forth and spew flames and molten rocks toward your enemies. Similar to the whirlwind build, the Gemma Flame Jet doesn’t require a lot of investment when it comes to gearing either. This one offers both offensive and defensive capabilities as well as a pretty straightforward playstyle. If that’s the case, then you can go for the Gemma Flame Jet build instead. Sometimes, running a melee build can be tough for beginners. All you have to do is hold down your Whirlwind button and start wrecking enemies along the way. It’s also really beginner-friendly as it doesn’t rely on too many mechanics to be effective. This makes for really smooth and fast gameplay, especially if you’re clearing maps. So that means that in total one character can choose from 21 active skills and 9 passive skills. There are 7 active skills and 3 passive skills in one skill tree. Not only that, but you can also keep on moving while spinning at the same time. Torchlight 2 Best Builds Torchlight 2 Skill Trees Each of the four classes has three skill trees unique to them. As for the build, we’ll be going for fire conversion to make for easier gearing as it lets you ignore enemy resistances. This is your typical spin-to-win build that focuses on the Berserker archetype. His allies can help with both attack and defense, which makes him a very formidable asset to have in the field. ![]() ![]() While Moto is armed with a might hammer, his strength actually comes from being able to summon mechs and robotic minions to assist him in combat.
